| Three of my favourite tree decorations. A dancing frog (he has a top hat!) rescued from a charity shop for 10p; a metal rocking horse, that I eyed wistfully a few years ago, but couldn't afford, and then found in the same shop the following year, reduced to just the price I wanted to pay; and a golden spider web, from a Ukrainian legend of a poor family who couldn't afford to decorate their tree, but awoke on Christmas day to find it covered in spider webs, glinting gold and silver in the sunlight. |
